Learning English from Tambaram
Three sentences come up again and again on day one. I can understand English but I cannot speak it. I know the answer but it comes out wrong. I feel shy in front of people who speak well.
All three are the same problem in different clothes. You have input and no output. You have read English for fifteen years and spoken it for perhaps fifteen hours.
The fix is not more grammar. It is daily speaking, corrected by someone who can tell you in Tamil why what you said was wrong. That is about thirty minutes a day, and the first full sentence usually arrives in the first week or two.
We also see a lot of first-generation learners here and in Chromepet, Pallavaram, Perungalathur and Selaiyur: the first person in the family to finish college, or the first to interview for an office job. There is often nobody at home to practise English with. Your trainer becomes that person.

What does the course cost?
Fees run from ₹4,000 to ₹18,000 depending on the level you start at and how long it runs. The free level test tells you your level, so you know the exact fee before deciding anything.
I studied entirely in Tamil medium. Is this for me?
Yes. Tambaram sends us more Tamil medium learners than any other part of Chennai, and nothing here assumes you already know grammar terms in English.
I cannot speak even one full sentence. Where do I start?
Pre-Basic. It begins with pronunciation and building a sentence, explained in Tamil. It exists for exactly the person who feels too far behind to start.
Is there a class near Tambaram or Chromepet?
The classes are online, which is deliberate: no travel and no fixed evening slot. Our Chennai office is on Anna Salai in Teynampet if you want to speak to someone in person.
I feel shy about speaking badly in front of others. Will that happen here?
No, because there is nobody else in the session. It is you and your trainer. That is the main reason this works for people who have quit a batch class before.
How soon will I see a difference?
Most learners feel a change in 30 to 60 days with daily practice. The first full sentence usually comes much sooner than that.
Do I need a laptop?
No. A phone is all you need. Everything runs on WhatsApp and live one-to-one sessions.
My parents want to learn too. Is there an age limit?
There is none. We teach school students and we teach learners in their sixties, each at their own level.
